What People Are Saying

The Paradise of Casablanca

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The time I spent here was easily one of the best weeks of my life. Location: Set just above a gorgeous beach. The sunrises are reliably unreal. You can find just about any fish you would want to keep in an aquarium. Property: The property is beautifully designed. I encourage any visiter to really appreciate the thought that has gone into everything: from the deck hang out to the iron whale tail closet hinges. There are few properties that compete with the beach paradise Casablanca is.

Thank you, Johnelle, for sharing your beautiful home with my family. You have created such a special environment at Casablanca, with your beautiful gardens, easy beach access and wonderfully comfortable furnishings. We had such a relaxing vacation there. And thank you, Fran, for being such a lovely hostess and for the care that you bestow on this property. We were so glad that you got us in touch with Norma the cook, who provided fantastic meals. We will certainly remember to stay with you whenever we return to Los Barriles. Cheers, Theo

Unbeatable Baja Bliss

Casablanca is the ultimate vacation getaway. Not only does the property come with plenty of adventure amenities (snorkel gear, kayaks, paddle boards, etc.) but it is truly a vacation HOME. The indoor and outdoor spaces are cozy and versatile. There are plenty of places to gather with the other people in your group and just as many options to get some quiet time alone (the hammock was my favorite spot to catch an afternoon snooze). The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one might need to cook a meal (cutlery, pots and pans, all the works) as well as options to make a quick meal with the microwave and toaster oven. The coziness of Casablanca is only the start of what makes it great. The ocean is steps away and the water is crystal clear. As for the sunrises and sunsets, they simply cannot be matched. The sunset was my favorite because every night the sky was painted with pastel purples and pinks. It is a must see. Lastly, the town of Los Barriles is cute and quaint with everything a vacationer might need. There are plenty of authentic Mexican restaurants in town (La Fogata was my favorite- ~$1.50 USD tacos) and beautiful souvenirs such as hand woven Mexican blankets and handmade mugs. I highly recommend spending time in town during your stay. All in all, I would recommend Casablanca to everyone I know. It is perfect for a single or joint family getaway, reunions, and people of all ages. You will not want to leave Casablanca!

Can’t Be Beat

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Having stayed at this property for a week long vacation period, I would say it was an absolute gem of a find. The beach access (access putting it lightly as it is quite so on the beach) mingling with the amenities of the house itself which is superbly spacious, while still having plenty of nooks for reading a good book. The wildlife is incredible as far as snorkelers or divers are concerned. All around, it was the best taste of Baja I could’ve asked for.

Worked out perfectly

3 couples. Could kite from the beach. Spacious. Comfortable. Great views. As mentioned by others, it is dated but is being refurbished. The manager is friendly and professional. Good and cooperative contact with the owner. Would recommend it to all. The only recommendation: soap & shampoo for the showers.

Staying at Casablanca is like being a guest in someone’s home. Everything you need is there.

My family, 6 adults and 4 kids had a wonderful stay at Casablanca. When conditions were right we would snorkel and use the kayaks. When the water was too rough we would go shelling. The patio area was awesome and heavily used. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. We had Norma cook a couple of meals for us. What a treat she is. My only complaint is regarding the shades in the master suite. They are not blackout so when the sun comes up you know it. Over all a great stay. PS, Fran, the caretaker was great and very easy to work with.
